Are you looking to book a group or extended family getaway, perhaps for a celebration or special occasion. Well, here at Dittisham Hideaway you can book a holiday with your friends or family but still enjoy the privacy of your own self-catered accommodation. We have four treehouses, each sleeping up to 2 adults and 3 children (plus an infant in a cot), as well as five shepherd lodges, all accommodating 2 adults and 2 smaller children. We even have a super retro American Airstream which can sleep 2 adults!

We are the perfect spot for extended or multigenerational family holidays, a staycation with a group of friends or a professional group getaway, sleeping in total 20 adults and 22 children.

Your four-legged friends are very welcome along on their holiday too!

Each treehouse has a large open-plan living and kitchen area and main bedroom with en-suite shower room and a separate toilet. There is a separate second shower room and children’s triple bunk-bed room. The outside deck features a hammock, outdoor chess set, sun loungers, Weber BBQ with dining area, and a traditional wood-fired cedar hot tub. The interiors are attractively furnished with a variety of rich wood finishes, soothing toned fabrics, sumptuous Egyptian cotton bed linen and home comfort essentials that include underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 en-suite bathrooms with power showers, family fun board games, books, and Wi-Fi.

Built in 1956, our iconic and distinctively styled American Airstream is a ‘Sovereign of the Road’ model and epitomises the style of Wally Byam, the founder of Airstream trailers. This particular Airstream number 1234 was owned by a member of Wally Byam’s Caravanners Club. Tucked into a secluded corner of the site with picturesque far-reaching views over to Dartmoor’s rolling hills. The ambience is truly romantic, with only the sound of the stream and the birds to keep you company. The Airstream comfortably accommodates two people and boasts a large outside deck with a dining table and chairs, a Weber barbecue, sun loungers, a double swing-seat, outdoor chess, and an indulgent outdoor Oak Japanese wood-fired spa bath. The Airstream is fitted with smart TV, sound system, Wi-Fi, combination oven, induction hob, fridge, ice box, dishwasher, power shower, and even under-floor heating.

Our 5 shepherd’s lodges are positioned in the old meadow with scenic views down the valley. They offer a generous 234 sq. ft. of space and are 26 ft. long having been designed to comfortably accommodate 2 adults. Plus, they now all feature a double sofa-bed to sleep 2 smaller children.

The homely interior of the lodges boasts a traditional wood-burning stove, relaxation area with coffee table, compact kitchen, foldaway breakfast bar, a king-size double bed, and generous bathroom with double walk-in power shower. Each shepherd lodge has its own private terrace with an outdoor wood-fired spa bath, Adirondack loungers, teak dining table and chairs with parasol, and a fire pit.

To keep adults and children alike entertained during your stay, our 9-acre site also features a table tennis table, Boules’s pitch and coming soon a den building area and further garden games area. Plus, a small vegetable patch and also coming soon, some chickens for fresh eggs.

New to Dittisham Hideaway is a 40 capacity Tipi tent and communal fire pit area, which can be hired for a small charge or offered on a complimentary basis if the site is booked exclusively. The Tipi tent is a perfect spot for an activity or group meal or even a silent disco!

The team at Dittisham Hideaway are on hand to assist with organising any further arrangements including onsite or offsite meals, activities or excursions, and with some wonderful places to eat, drink and explore in the local area, you will run out of time to fit everything in and have to re-book for a second stay!
