At the heart of Teignmouth’s seafront you’ll find The Den, a large open Green Flag award park. This is one of the most popular open spaces in the area and well loved by both locals and tourists. Its home to a wide variety of attractions and provides a great base of a day out in Teignmouth.
The Den is located opposite the seafront and is a large flat grassed area with Teignmouth town centre a short a walk away. At one end of The Den is a bowling green and the recently opened Pavilions where a cinema, community space and cafe is located. At the other end you’ll find a large children’s play area with wet play feature and a range of climbing frames, you’ll also find crazy golf, a multi-use games area and skate park.
Running the length of The Den you’ll find the sea, main town beach and flat level promenade. The sandy beach is perfect for beach games, swimming and water sports as well as being a great place to just sit back and enjoy the view. Jetting out from the middle is the impressive Teignmouth Grand Pier where an array of fun games and amusements are waiting.
Dotted around the outside edge of The Den you’ll find a number of food kiosks and cafe offering a range of food from light snacks, cream teas, all day breakfasts to ice creams. Whether you’re getting a take away or bring a picnic The Den is the perfect spot to enjoy it.
Parking is available adjacent to The Den on most sides or a short walk away and with hard smooth surfaced paths and all entrance points with steps also having a ramp the whole area has great accessibility.
Throughout the year The Den hosts an assortment of community events included a funfair during Carnival week, making it a real focal point for the town.
