Dawlish Town Council invites you to experience a magical new experience Dawlish.

Get ready for something truly special this summer as Higher Beings brings their enchanting, friendly dragons Emerald and Demelza to the parish!

This exciting new experience is set to spark curiosity and imagination for all ages, offering a unique opportunity to encounter these captivating creatures up close. Whether you're a believer in legends or simply looking for a fun and memorable day out, this is not to be missed.

Dragons have long been part of our rich cultural heritage, inspiring stories, folklore, and wonder across generations. This magical event celebrates that tradition, bringing a touch of myth and imagination into our community spaces.

Road Directions

Driving from Exeter to The Strand, Dawlish is straightforward and usually takes about 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic. The route is approximately 13 miles (21 km).

Directions

Leave Exeter heading south-west on the A379 towards Exminster and Dawlish.
Continue through Exminster and follow signs for Dawlish on the A379.
Stay on the A379 as it runs alongside the Exe Estuary through Kenton, Starcross, and Cockwood.
On entering Dawlish, continue on the A379 into the town centre.
Follow signs for the seafront and town centre.
The Strand is the central road running alongside the Brook in the heart of the town.

From Newton Abbot to The Strand, Dawlish, the journey is about 8 miles (13 km) and typically takes 15 to 20 minutes by car, depending on traffic.
Directions

Leave Newton Abbot on the A381 towards Teignmouth.
Join the A379 following signs for Dawlish.
Continue through Teignmouth and stay on the A379 coast road towards Dawlish.
Enter Dawlish and follow the A379 into the town centre.
Turn towards the central shopping area and seafront.
The Strand is the main road running alongside The Brook in the centre of town.
