Elite cycle racing returns to Dawlish on Friday 17 July 2026, bringing the excitement of the British Cycling National Circuit Series to the heart of the town.
The first race is at 6pm, but we recommend arriving early to find a spot, have a look around the town and settle before the race starts.
Set around The Lawn and The Strand, the Dawlish Grand Prix will see national level riders race through a fast, technical town centre circuit, combining speed, tactics and endurance in front of the crowd. The Women's E/1/2/3 race is scheduled for 7pm, followed by the Open E/1/2 race at 8pm, with both races listed as 50 minute National A events.
Hosted in partnership with the South West Road Race Workgroup and Dawlish Town Council, the event promises a lively summer atmosphere on the coast, with high speed racing, local hospitality and plenty of reasons to explore Dawlish before the evening action begins.
Come early and make a day of it, enjoy Dawlish's independent shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, seafront, brook, Lawn and famous black swans before watching some of the country's top riders compete for vital series points.
This is a public event and free to watch. Visitors are encouraged to travel by train, cycle or on foot where possible, as town centre roads may be closed or subject to diversions and parking is expected to be limited.
