Burn baby burn! Don't make a deal with the devil!...
Following our sell-out production of 9 to 5 The Musical, as well as their ever-popular annual pantomimes, Shaldon Theatre Company return to the Pavilions with 'Disco Inferno - The Musical'.
Disco Inferno is a riotous, fun trip back to the decade of flared trousers, platform shoes, glitz & glitter. Disco Inferno is a story set in the 'hot, hot, hot' summer of 1976, at the peak of the disco era with those fabulous hits from the 1970's. Disco hits from The Bee-Gees, Elton John, The Village People, The Real Thing & Earth Wind & Fire to name just a few!
The story centres on Jack, a young ambitious man working at the nightclub Disco Inferno, who dreams of becoming a music superstar. Desperate for success, he makes a Faustian pact with the devil's assistant, Lady Marmalade for fame, fortune and international success, but he soon learns that all that glitters isn't gold; his new found celebrity status leads him to lose not only his girlfriend Jane, but his best friend Tom as well. Jack must find a way to redeem himself and discovers that the people he loves are far more important than fame and fortune.
There's are a fabulous blend of high-energy disco hits, humorous dialogue, and energetic dance routines all set against the backdrop of the glittering disco era, so dust off your flares and come and join us for a great party style night out.
Bursting with classic disco hits like "I Will Survive," "Fire", "You Should Be Dancing", "Hot Stuff", "Boogie Nights", "Play That Funky Music," and many more, plus of course the fabulous "Disco Inferno". The musical is a definite feel-good, fun-filled celebration of the sound and groovy style of the seventies, that you will not want to miss.
