Natural Affinity

Artizan Gallery welcomes esteemed North Devon guest artists Jenny Smy and Gill Jones to Torbay for a three-week joint exhibition of new works in March.
Working diversely across a variety of mediums, the two inform their practice with a sustained effort to challenge their own working habits, adopting a transitory approach to form and style.
In this exhibition, Natural Affinity, works lean towards abstraction, though elements of figuration remain across both collections, for a complete body of work that upholds the pairs passion for nature that they have previously been recognised for. "I draw my inspiration from the area in which I live and the proximity of the sea," says Jenny, "Living in Devon, I am lucky that I only have to walk a mile or so to get to water. There are several rivers nearby and the local marshes and estuary often provide the inspiration and motivation for my work."
Natural Affinity will launch on March 8th, 18:00-20:00 with the exhibition running from 4th-23rd March.
