Dawlish Town Council is once again delighted to welcome back Uncle Tacko's Prom-Prom and his wonderful team, bringing a fantastic mix of traditional seaside entertainment to Dawlish this summer!
From much-loved classics like Punch & Judy and the ever-popular Flea Circus, to an exciting range of new acts, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
✨ This year's line-up includes:
The Tinglary – a charming barrel organ
Penny Plonk – bringing musical fun to the promenade
Seaside Games – perfect for all ages
Walkabout Puppets – bringing smiles wherever they go
Uncle Tacko & his team are set to fill our seaside spaces with laughter, music, and family-friendly fun – a true celebration of the traditional British seaside experience.

Driving from Exeter to The Strand, Dawlish is straightforward and usually takes about 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic. The route is approximately 13 miles (21 km).
Directions
Leave Exeter heading south-west on the A379 towards Exminster and Dawlish.
Continue through Exminster and follow signs for Dawlish on the A379.
Stay on the A379 as it runs alongside the Exe Estuary through Kenton, Starcross, and Cockwood.
On entering Dawlish, continue on the A379 into the town centre.
Follow signs for the seafront and town centre.
The Strand is the central road running alongside the Brook in the heart of the town.
From Newton Abbot to The Strand, Dawlish, the journey is about 8 miles (13 km) and typically takes 15 to 20 minutes by car, depending on traffic.
Directions
Leave Newton Abbot on the A381 towards Teignmouth.
Join the A379 following signs for Dawlish.
Continue through Teignmouth and stay on the A379 coast road towards Dawlish.
Enter Dawlish and follow the A379 into the town centre.
Turn towards the central shopping area and seafront.
The Strand is the main road running alongside The Brook in the centre of town.

Depart from Exeter St Davids (or Exeter Central, with a change at St Davids on some services).
Arrive at Dawlish Station.
Trains run approximately every 30 minutes throughout the day.

Dawlish Station is about a 5 minute walk from The Strand in the town centre.
By Bus
Take Stagecoach Route 2 from Exeter Bus Station towards Newton Abbot.
Alight in Dawlish (e.g. near Lanherne/The Strand area).
Buses run roughly every 30 minutes.
Journey time is approximately 50 to 55 minutes.
Public Transport: Newton Abbot → Dawlish
