Shaldon celebrates its 30th Classical Music Festival from 20th to 23th June 2019 at St Peter's Church. The festival was the inspiration of Eileen Parkhouse, cellist wife of David Parkhouse. It began in 1990 as a memorial concert to celebrate the life of his husband, an internationally renowned pianist, who was born in Teignmouth and lived latterly n Shaldon.
The 2019 Programme includes:
20th June 2019: Bath Philhamonia Orchestra, directed by Jason Thornton, performing Humperdick, Saint Saens and Elgar.
21st June 2019: Trio Sora Paris based Piano Trio, performing Haydn, Smetana and Beethoven
22nd June 2019: Festival Choir Choral - Workshop and Informal Evening Concert, directed by Brian Kay and joined by professional soloists performing Mozart Requiem, Dyson Three Songs of Praise, plus other Mozart solo arias.
