Teign Heritage Young Poets Competition

Children and young people are invited to enter a poem on the theme of
'The Railway' in our Young Poets Competition.
The competition is open from 21st May 2019 until Saturday July 6th 2019.
Young people living in Teignmouth and surrounding areas are eligible to enter.
There are three age categories 5-7, 8-11 and 12-16 years.
There are three prizes in each of the age categories.
These are in the form of Book Vouchers or Gift Vouchers.
The nominal value of the prizes in each category is:

1st prize £15, 2nd prize £10, 3rd prize £5.

An award ceremony will take place in July 2019 where the prizes and certificates of merit will be presented by the President of Teignmouth Rotary Club.
Winning poems will be on display in the museum for the duration of the Railway
Exhibition at Teignmouth and Shaldon Museum, and published in the autumn edition
of the Friends of Teign Heritage Journal.
The poems will be judged by the Teign Heritage Education Team.
