Whether you've never had the courage to put pen to paper or have been flexing your creative muscle for some time there will be something for everyone. Our writers and poets will be there to encourage you, teach and inspire you. If you just want to soak up the atmosphere, browse the exhibition space and listen to performance artists, you can do that too.
Have you ever wanted to write a best seller ? Crime, romance, or historical dramas, the basic rules are much the same. Do you enjoy reading to your children and wonder if you could ever write your own picture story book. You can find out more and practise what you learn.
You might want to learn more about blogging or podcasting, or perhaps you're interested in researching local history and other subjects; we have published writers experienced in writing on-line, for radio, magazines and local publications.
We've tried to vary the content of our festival so whether you're looking for a fresh look at your writing or trying something new there will be something for everyone.
All our writers and eventers are local. Several are popular in word cafés and at local events on the circuit around the Totnes area and some are national personalities.
Why not try your hand at something different; there is poetry with music or an inspirational poetry trip to China.
We have workshops on self discovery, to lock into imaginations that have become sleepy due to lack of use, or to gain a fresh look at how we see what's around us .
At the end of the day, you can share anything you've created in an Open Mic session and
Grand Bard of Exeter Jackie Juno will be hosting an evening Poetry Slam.
There will be live performances, you can buy a poem written to order, plus a chance to see work by talented KEVICC students.
 We aim to celebrate, encourage and promote creative writing as a means of enhancing well being by communicating and sharing ideas with other people and to give an opportunity to develop, explore and practice writing in a variety of new and exciting ways.
