South Devon is not just about beautiful beaches, scenic countryside and picturesque villages. There’s also lots for the animal lovers amongst you to enjoy while you are out and about exploring. We have listed some of the great places within South Devon that allow animals fans, both big and small, to get close to nature and meet a host of different creatures.

Pennywell Farm 

Make friends with more than 150 friendly animals in their farmyard home. There are hungry lambs and goat kids to bottle feed, ferrets to race, puppet shows, sing-a-longs, hedgehogs to meet and ponds to explore. Pennywell Farm is also the home of the world famous Pennywell Miniature Pigs.

Crealy Great Adventure Park 

There’s a great choice of animals attractions at Crealy from Monkey Mayhem, Meercat Manor and Gruffalo Goats to Bugz Unlimited and Pets Paddock. There is also a chance to Groom a Pony and visit Guinea Pig Village.

Woodlands Family Theme Park 

Discover Woodlands’ Zoo-Farm where there are hundreds of animals waiting for you! There’s something for everyone in the big barns and paddocks at the Zoo-Farm. Don’t forget to pay a visit to The Meerkat Motel, Pigs Palace, Reptile House or Deer Park while you’re there.

Becky Falls 

Meet the cuddly Becky Falls residents, from fluffy bunnies and guinea pigs to Chinese hamsters and naked rats. There’s a lovely show for children and adults alike on every day during school holidays and weekends. Also don’t miss Animal Encounters of the Scary Kind featuring lizards, tarantulas and boa constrictors and Animal feeding sessions.

Trago Mills Family shopping and Leisure Park

After a day spent shopping or an afternoon in the Leisure park ensure you stop by Theden Animal Park where you’ll find ponies, curly pigs, plus other furry and feathered friends for the kids to meet.

Powderham Castle

Visit the Walled Garden Play Area & Pets Corner, home to friendly pets and an adventure play castle.  Get close to the deer on a deer park safari (available daily in the school holidays) or watch the Daily Bird of Prey Display running from Sunday 19th July to Saturday 31st August 2015.
