July Events

There’s so much going on in South Devon this July. Below are some of the great events you’ll find taking place throughout the region.

Newton Abbot Carnival Week, 5th – 12th July

The weeklong carnival includes a number of events from a Quiz Night, Duck Race, Tractor Pull and a Fun Run as well as the carnival procession.

Hannahs Comedy Festival, 8th – 12th July

Featuring the very best of stand-up comedians from the pro circuit, including Edinburgh warm-up shows. The festival will also include workshops for budding adult and child comedians and a Kids Comedy Picnic and huge custard pie fight!

Glas-Denbury Music Festival, 10th – 11th July

Glas-Denbury brings together families and people of all ages to appreciate the music, surroundings and a truly Devon festival feel. It is a happy event, one of the friendliest you will ever find, with a wonderful atmosphere.

Dartmouth Steam Railway 2nd Annual Beer Festival, 17th – 19th July

The beer festival is on the embankment at Kingswear and has uninterrupted, panoramic views of the River Dart. We doubt there is a beer festival in the country with more beautiful views while you sample fantastic beers sourced from across the UK.

Celebrate – Summer Craft Exhibition, 18th – 6th September

Celebrating 60 years of supporting craft makers the Devon Guild’s annual summer exhibition articulates notions of festivity and reflection that such milestones bring. Selected by Guild Members themselves, this exhibition is an opportunity for the Membership to showcase their best new work.

Fairytale Week, 19th – 24th July

Come and meet fairy-tale folk, follow their fantastic fables and frolic in the enchanted forest at Powderham Castle.

Teignmouth Carnival Week, 25th July – 1st August

With live music, skating competitions, It's a Knockout challenges and fun and games for all the family.

Totnes and District Agricultural Show – 26th July

The Totnes Show is over 90 years old and is one of the biggest one day shows in the country! Every year they attract thousands of visitors, young and old and there is something for all of them.

Jungle Jim Visits Devon’s Crealy – 31st July

The Jungle Jim Roadshow is a unique show for children and adults of all ages 0-100!
Jungle Jim, professional ventriloquist Jimmy Tamley creates a "Rumble in the Jungle" with all his Jungle friends. Audience participation is encouraged so come and join in the fun!
