Designed in 1926 by one of Britain’s finest golf course designers, Bovey Castle’s 18-hole golf course is a true gem nestled within Dartmoor National Park.

The course roams through the luxury Bovey Castle Hotel estate and enjoys a prime location within the stunning Devon landscape. As challenging as it is beautiful, this championship course is designed to test the skills of players of all abilities.

The 7th hole provides an exciting challenge, with a river meandering down the right-hand side that is sure to tantalise, infuriate and charm golfers in equal measure!

If you plan to visit, ensure you’re well prepared for your time out on the course by looking at the Bovey Castle website for current course conditions and weather updates.

Woodbury Park Hotel & Golf Club, Woodbury, nr Exeter

With superior facilities, idyllic surroundings, and experienced staff on hand to ensure your round runs smoothly, Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club is the ideal destination for golfers of all abilities.

If you're after a challenge, the scenic 18-hole Championship ‘Oaks Course’ is for you, with striking parkland, rolling fairways and stunning lakes. Alternatively, if you don’t have a handicap and are looking for something a little less demanding, the 9-hole ‘Acorns Course’ is the perfect test of your skills.

Even if you don’t play your best golf, the scenery alone at Woodbury Park is worth the walk, with manicured greens and an abundance of wildlife - this really is golf at it best. You owe it to yourself to visit the club and take on the Woodbury challenge.

Shaldon Approach Golf, Shaldon

Shaldon Approach Golf is considered one of the best approach courses in the South West, with breath taking views of Teignmouth and the Teign Estuary.

Not sure what an ‘Approach Course’ is? Allow us to help! An approach course is a golf course comprised of short holes that allow golfers to work on their approach shots into greens. So, if you're after a course where you can work on finessing your game, Shaldon Approach is for you!

As well as being a specialised approach course, Shaldon is also a full 18-hole course with hole distances of 60 to 120 yards, giving you the perfect choice between making your round a laidback scenic stroll or a competitive, Shaldon Approach challenge!

Highbullen Hotel, Golf and Country Club, Umberleigh

The glorious Highbullen Hotel in Umberleigh sits proudly within a 9-hole USGA specification golf course. Set in richly wooded parkland with breath-taking views across Dartmoor, this course provides a thrilling test for golfers of all skill sets.

Highbullen Golf Course may be shorter than a lot of other courses, but this also makes it the perfect location for golfers of all abilities and handicaps. However, the higher skilled golfers in your party shouldn’t be put off – the course does still provide a unique challenge as it tests a player’s ability to manage a golf course and select the right club.

Golf is available on a “pay and play” basis all year round with golf buggies and clubs available to hire for an additional fee.

Tavistock Golf Club, Tavistock

Staddon Heights, Plymouth

The naval Staddon Heights Golf Club was founded in 1904 and offers both a challenging and memorable golfing experience from its unique cliff top location.

One of Devon’s best moorland courses with views stretching out across Dartmoor and Cornwall, Yelverton Golf Course offers a high standard of heathland golf.

Bigbury Golf Club, Bigbury, Nr Kingsbridge

From its dramatic location perched high on the cliff edge, the course at Bigbury Golf Club is at the mercy of fickle sea winds, making it an exciting challenge to play.

Dartmouth Golf and Country Club, Blackawton, nr Dartmouth

You’ll need every club in the bag when playing the Dartmouth Championship course! No two holes are the same and there’s a great deal of fun to be had whilst plotting your route around the greens.

Churston Golf Club, Brixham

Welsh snooker legend, Ray Reardon, is the president of Churston Golf Club. Climbing steadily over cliff tops with stunning views across Tor Bay, this is a quirky course with many enjoyable slopes.
