Arrive by boat at Jenkins Quay for a Sunday lunch celebrating live-fire cooking, coastal ingredients and English wine in a beautiful estuary setting.
Your afternoon begins with a sparkling wine and canapé reception, served al fresco on the green overlooking the estuary, before you are accompanied to Bantham's Boathouse Dining Room for a seated three-course lunch.
Bristol-based cook and MasterChef contestant David Arnold brings a Basque-inspired menu rooted in seasonal South West produce and the flavours of cooking over fire. Drawing on his summer travels through the Basque region—and its shared love of coastal ingredients, generous hospitality and good wine—David's menu combines seafood, fire-cooked lamb and a rich chocolate dessert.
Expect smoky octopus and wood-roasted mackerel nduja among the opening bites, followed by fire-cooked seafood, lamb with cannellini beans and seasonal accompaniments, and chocolate mousse finished with olive oil and sea salt.
Each course is complemented by a carefully selected wine pairing from Bantham Estate and other English vineyards, personally introduced by the winemaker, who will share the stories behind the wines and explain their relationship with the food.
An unhurried afternoon of smoke, seafood, seasonal cooking and exceptional English wine, shared around the table beside the estuary.
