Resting on the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Beer is a charming village which even came runner up in Channel 4’s Village of the Year in 2018! It’s striking white cliffs and postcard-like streets draw in visitors from around the country and further afield! Being such a pretty destination in East Devon it’s no wonder that there are a plethora of wonderful places to photograph. From astounding cliff tops to alluring streets and even a system of caves, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed! Find out our top 10 instagrammable spots in Beer below.

Beer Head

First up on our list is Beer Head. Not for the feint of heart, this towering cliff top really is a remarkable place. The viewpoint can be reached by following the South West Coast Path west from the village where you’ll be greeted with magnificent coastal views and be able to see more of this incredible part of the Jurassic Coast.

Jubilee Gardens

For an unrivalled view of Beer Beach, head to Jubilee Gardens. Once voted one of the top picnic spots in the UK, this peaceful park is dotted with colourful flora throughout the warmer months. There are benches to admire the view and the flowers just help to frame it beautifully, it’s the ideal place to get a shot of Beer Beach.

Beer Beach

Arguably one of the most photographed locations in the village, Beer Beach should definitely be high on your list when you visit East Devon. With its colourful fishing boats, striped deck chairs, stark white cliffs and shingle underfoot it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. And of course it’s pretty photogenic too! Village

Throughout Beer you’ll find lots of amazing places to photography and one of our favourites has to be the village itself. A short distance away from the front are quaint cottages and shop lined streets, beautifully kept and adorned with colourful hanging baskets. It’s got a quintessential English village feel which just oozes charm in photos.

Beer Head Bistro

Beer Head Bistro is located at Beer Head Caravan Park and we had to include it on our list due to its magnificent views overlooking the ocean. Whether it’s a light bite or alfresco drink in the sun that you’re looking for, it’s a brilliant place to stop and just take in the stunning surroundings. We’re sure you’ll get a photo that will make your followers pretty jealous too!

Hooken Cliffs

Hooken Cliffs can be found just along the coastline from Beer Head. In 1970 a landslip left behind a muddled area of pinnacles and vegetation now known as Hooken Undercliff. This natural haven for wildlife is staggeringly beautiful and is another one of our favourite spots to photograph in Beer.

Beer Quarry Caves

A manmade underground collection of tunnels in limestone, Beer Quarry Caves is the result of 2000 years of quarrying. Beer stone can be found in a multitude of signifyicant buildings in Devon and further afield including Exeter Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London. The caves are fantastic for a day out and make for some cool pictures too!

Whitecliff

Situated between Beer and the bustling seaside resort of Seaton, Whitecliff is a gorgeous viewing point. Here you can really soak up some incredible views of the Jurassic Coast especially towards Seaton. It’s really quite tricky to take a bad photo at this spot so we’re sure you’re going to enjoy it.

Pecorama

Next up on our list of the most instagrammble places in Beer is Pecorama. Pecorama is a family attraction which is perfect for any railway enthusiast. There is so much to see and do here with lots of wonderful spots to grab a beautiful photograph. From trains to lovely gardens and sea views, you’re sure to capture a great shot.

Common Lane

Running parallel to the sea shore just inland from Beer Beach is Common Lane. Although probably not the first spot you’d think of when photographing this gorgeous village, some great shots can be had here. The residential street has a row of pretty houses which lend themselves to a charming photo and really capture the character of Beer.
