Day Tour of Totnes & Dartington Hall including a two course lunch and selection of activities – min group size = 15 and max group size = 49 (large coach)

Explore the heritage of the ancient market town of Totnes and medieval Dartington estate for only £35 per person.

Spend the morning in Totnes soaking up the history of this captivating market town dating back to 907 AD. Walk through the high street and adjoining narrow, cobbled lanes and discover many independent shops and eateries, heritage buildings and interesting architecture. Sites to visit around the town include the East Gate Arch, the Parish Church of St Mary, the atmospheric Guildhall (April – October) or the Norman castle which overlooks the town and so much more.

During 2020 (from end March), Totnes Museum will be curating an exhibition on people from Totnes and the surrounding areas who emigrated to America from 1600 – 1800.

Depart Totnes for lunch at Dartington Hall, the largest medieval manor house in the West of England. Historic Dartington Hall is an inspiring, 1200-acre cultural destination just outside the ancient market town of Totnes, with Grade II* gardens. Lunch is served in the 14th century White Hart. Built in 1388 the White Hart offers seasonal produce, lovingly prepared within great surroundings. Enjoy a midday feasting menu reminiscent of the food and drink that was popular at the time of Mayflower 400. Seasonality was key in the 17th century and our menu showcases this.

Following lunch choose from a selection of activities where your tour guests can find out more about about Dartington Hall:

Guided tour of the stunning Dartington Hall gardens
History of Dartington Hall and the buildings

PRICE: £35 per person includes self-guided tour of Totnes in the morning, 2 course lunch at Dartington Hall in the 14th century White Hart restaurant and either a guided tour of the Dartington Hall gardens or listen to the history of the Hall and buildings
