Following on from the success of the previous weekend festivals over the past two years (all the Beethoven Piano Concertos in 2016 and a String Concerto weekend in 2017), this year our music festival immerses itself in the Romantic era.

There are concerts, masterclasses, lectures, films, open rehearsals and much more. Put the 24th and 25th November in your diaries and come and join us for two days of musical joy and enlightenment.

Saturday 24th November

10am - 1pm: Veronika Shoot - programme to be announced
2pm - 4pm: Open rehearsal with the TSO
5pm: Prof Frank Denyer talks about the Eroica and the Romantic Era, accompanied live by members of the TSO with excerpts from the symphony

Concert 7.30pm:
Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 in E flat, 'Eroica'
Interval
Brahms: Piano Concerto No. 2 in B flat (soloist Irina Lyakhovskaya)

Sunday 25th November

10am - 1pm: Irina Lyakhovskaya masterclass with instrumentalists and accompanists - programme to be announced
2pm - 5pm: Open rehearsal with the TSO
5pm: Part 2 with Prof Frank Denyer - this time Wagner's Tristan is the focus of his talk

Concert 7.30pm:
Wagner: Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde
Strauss: Four Last Songs (soloist Catherine Hamilton)
Interval
Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 2 (soloist Veronika Shoot)

Guide Prices

Tickets £15 per concert, £25 for two concerts, £30 all weekend.
Students half price, under 18s free when accompanied by a paying adult.
