Christmas Fair looking fabulously festive at The Donkey Sanctuary, Devon

Opening Times

Sorry, this event has passed

Kick-start your Christmas shopping and bring little ones to meet Santa at The Donkey Sanctuary's fabulously festive Christmas Fair in Sidmouth, Devon.

The sanctuary's indoor arena will be packed with over 50 talented traders selling wonderfully unique items, from beautiful gifts and local crafts to delicious edible treats.

Santa will put in a special appearance over the weekend and taking residence in his Grotto, will provide little ones with a magical Christmas experience to remember. Santa tickets are £4 including a small, age appropriate gift. Tickets will be available to purchase each day on a first come, first served basis.

On Saturday 23 November from 1-1:30pm, the East Devon Rock Choir will bring lots of festive cheer to the Fair and entertain with performances of Christmas classics that'll have you singing along in no time.

Try your luck at winning some of the fantastic prizes up for grabs in the 'pick a prize' raffle (just in time for Christmas!) and don't forget to enter the complimentary prize draw for the star prize of the day.

Winter-warming refreshments will be available from The Off Road Café and Fanny Annie's or head over to The Kitchen restaurant for wholesome breakfasts, delicious lunches and afternoon delights. Also, discover the new Sunday Brunch menu from 9am-3pm – a weekend treat best served with friends, family and fabulous views.

There are of course hundreds of friendly donkeys to meet while you're at the sanctuary, including the gentle giant Poitous, lovable adoption donkeys and adorable miniature donkeys. Now it wouldn't be Christmas if the donkeys didn't get a present (and a stocking to hide it in)! Follow the Christmas Stocking Trail to discover what each of the adoption donkeys are getting this year – for a present of your own. Just £3 including a prize and certificate, available from the Visitor Centre.

Entry and parking at the sanctuary is free. Dogs on leads welcome.

All proceeds go directly to the worldwide work of The Donkey Sanctuary.
