Devon Baroque Orchestra celebrates its 25th anniversary and the Dartington centenary in the glorious Great Hall.
Timed to coincide with the centenary of Dorothy and Leonard Elmhirst's rural revival project at Dartington Hall, the orchestra is thrilled to return with a glittering programme of English music from the 18th century. The walls of the Great Hall vibrate with the music performed not only over the last 100 years, but also in its entire history. Could the music in this concert have been heard in the distant past when the Champernowne family was resident?
Artistic Directors:
Persephone Gibbs (violin) joined Devon Baroque in 2016 and leads the orchestra with style and panache, to critical acclaim.
Andrew Wilson-Dickson (harpsichord) has been a stalwart of Devon Baroque for many years, creating stunning and fascinating programmes as well as being a truly sensitive and imaginative continuo player.
Devon Baroque is delighted to be joined by:
Russell Gilmour (Natural Trumpet)
Katie McClaughry (Natural Trumpet)
Rebecca Ramsey (Soprano)
