Dvorak String Quartet in Eb, Op 51
This Haydn Quartet, known as 'The Emperor', has a famous slow movement, with variations on the anthem that Haydn composed to stir up German patriotism when there was the threat of a French invasion.
Frank Bridge's "An Irish Melody," is his unique take on the famous Londonderry Air.
Dvorak's Quartet, 'The Slavonic', is one of his most popular string quartets. It perfectly balances the structures of the classical style, with a spirit rooted in Bohemian folk music.
