Armistice Centenary & 'Driver for a Tenner', but actually £11.11!
Our usual 'Driver for a Tenner' in aid of the Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal will be running again this year on Saturday 10 November at Buckfastleigh station but, with the Centenary of the First World War Armistice taking place the following day, but with a revised increased charge of £11.11 being charged to suitably mark the date of and time of the Armistice signing at Compiegne, France in 1918, and called 'Driver for Armistice' instead.
It's planned there will be a number of associated events on the day, including military vehicles and RBL personnel on site. Tickets are now on sale on the SDR website, see: https://southdevonrailway.digitickets.co.uk/event-tickets/12654?catID=16035
