This Summer Bank Holiday Aug 28th - 31st, step beyond the ordinary and Fantastical Magic Festival - A fantasy adventure that families will love!
Set within the breath-taking grounds of the historic 11th Century Dartington Hall, ancient woodland, hidden pathways and medieval buildings are transformed into a magical kingdom waiting to be explored. Created by Miss Ivy Events, this isn't simply a festival you watch – it's a world you step into.
Your adventure begins as you receive your very own Spell Card at the entrance. Guided by the Storyteller, you'll set out on an enchanting quest through five magical realms, meeting the mysterious Realm Keepers, collecting magical stamps and uncovering the Lost Words needed to complete your journey.
Travel through The Wizards' Hall, where ancient magic is taught and spellcasters await. Wander into The Hollow, home to fairies, woodland sprites and magical creatures hidden amongst the trees. Discover The Cove, where mermaids, sea magic and enchanting workshops bring fantasy to life. Venture into The Wildwood, where dragons, magnificent birds of prey and mythical beasts roam, before returning to The Grove, where your magical quest concludes beneath the Wishing Oak.
Along the way you'll encounter roaming fantasy characters, magical performances, live music, immersive workshops, artisan makers and hands-on experiences designed to delight children and adults alike. Every realm offers something new to discover, making each visit a unique adventure.
Children can enjoy magical workshops including wand making, spell casting, fairy crafts, woodland creations, mermaid treasures and much more. Throughout the day they'll meet Realm Keepers, complete their Spell Card quest and become true Story Keepers.
The festival also features spectacular live entertainment, including breath-taking Birds of Prey Displays on Friday and Sunday, the fascinating Reptile Creatures Chamber on Saturday and Monday, magical live shows, enchanting storytelling sessions, roaming mystical characters, the Bubble Pixie, live music, outdoor games and the vibrant Enchanted Makers Market, filled with artisan gifts, fantasy treasures and delicious food and drink.
Families are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite fantasy character, whether that's a wizard, fairy, knight, dragon, witch, elf or magical creature, and join the daily celebrations as the magical world comes alive around them.
With stunning themed realms, unforgettable characters, interactive adventures and countless magical photo opportunities, The Fantastical Magic Festival is a truly immersive family experience where imagination leads the way and every visitor becomes part of the story.
