Take part in The Donkey Sanctuary's Golden Anniversary celebrations with this entertaining family activity that combines fun, exercise and brainpower.

Follow the clues around the sanctuary to find the golden carrots and discover interesting facts relating to special events or achievements that have defined their first 50 years, before uncovering the hidden treasure to claim your golden reward. Just £3 per treasure hunt.

Embrace the great outdoors this February half-term and enjoy a meet and greet with some of the hundreds of friendly donkeys who are cared for at the sanctuary, including the gentle giant Poitous, the lovable adoption donkeys and the adorable minis.

Make the most of your visit by joining one of the fascinating tours, talks and demonstrations to learn more about the furry residents and the charity that works tirelessly to transform their lives. And explore the exciting new indoor attractions to discover just why donkeys are so special through fun, interactive displays in the new Exhibition Barn, Understanding Donkeys Zone and Dr Svendsen's Hut.

Enjoy freshly-prepared, seasonal dishes using local and ethically sourced produce alongside stunning coast and country views at the Taste of the West award-winning restaurant, The Kitchen. Hearty breakfasts, luscious lunches and tempting treats are served daily from 9am to 4pm. And for unique donkey-design items and souvenirs to remember your visit by, head to the new Gift Shop.

The Donkey Sanctuary celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019, after being founded as a charity in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen MBE. It has many achievements to celebrate and a renewed vision for the future that will transform the welfare of donkeys and mules across the world.
