Jack and the Beanstalk: The Giant Easter Open-Air Family Panto

There'll be magic beans this Easter at Sidmouth's Connaught Gardens. Bring your own picnic and join us for a rolicking Devonshire panto bound to have the whole family rolling in the aisles.

Jack, Dame Tilly Trott and Pat, the cow adventure up the beanstalk to defeat the evil Giant. But will Jack win Jill's heart and the riches he so badly needs? Will good prevail over evil? Will the giant finally sort out his flatulence issue?

Brought to you by City of Light Theatre, Jack and the Beanstalk has all the ingredients of a perfect family pantomime; a talented local cast, side-splitting comedy routines, marvellous musical numbers and plenty of audience participation for all the boys and girls to hiss, boo and cheer. Who said pantomime was only for Christmas?

All profits from Jack and the Beanstalk will be donated to Devon Freewheelers.

Additional Information
Jack and the Beanstalk will last for approximately 1 hour. Seating will not be provided on the grass, so please ensure you bring your own picnic rug or seats if needed. Bring along your own drinks and picnic and enjoy the panto. Gates will open 1 hour prior to the beginning of the show allowing audience members to setup their pitches and enjoy their food before the show.

COLT are a theatre company who tell local stories for local people in the South West. Recent work includes Michael Morpurgo's Out of the Ashes at The Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter and on tour around the South West. COLT is lead by Director Alex Jackson. Based in East Devon, Alex is an early-career Director with a wealth of experience with community theatre.
