"Jerusalem" is a modern play by Jez Butterworth that paints a vivid portrait of life in a rural Wiltshire village. Set against the backdrop of Johnny 'Rooster' Byron's chaotic encampment, the story unfolds as he and his misfit friends revel in a world of hedonism, camaraderie, and the threat of eviction looming overhead. As they gather for the village fair, the play explores themes of community, rebellion, and the struggle for a sense of belonging.
Being staged in an immersive woodland setting, this production invites audiences to witness the raw energy and grit of the characters as they navigate their realities. It's an opportunity to experience a contemporary classic that resonates with the pulse of modern life, making it a compelling addition to Wild Will's 2025 season.
