Unique Boutique Events brings its community evening street food markets back to East Devon for summer 2019.
Friday evenings in the summer have become a way to get together over food and connect with your community. Unique Boutique Events brings their popular street food markets back to Jubilee Gardens, Seaton and to the Ham, Sidmouth for another summer. You'll find a great location with views out across the Jurassic coast, the reasonably priced pop up bar and cool music to accompany your culinary journey around the world.
Organiser Eleanor Carr is thrilled to be returning following on from a successful summer 2018. "The weather was such an asset last year but people really embraced the notion of street food, outdoor dining, a giant community picnic."
This year sees many traders returning such as the legendary Persian chicken wrap and Sidmouth based Flaming Good Pizza, as well as some new ones, including West Country Dim Sum and Coldharbour Farm. All the traders are based in the south west, and a growing number are based in East Devon with produce either from their farm or from other local suppliers.
The people at Unique Boutique Events love our landscape and are conscious of the waste such events can generate. All traders are expected to use biodegradable packaging as far as possible, and organiser Eleanor Carr asks that people take home what rubbish they can. Last year the bar ditched the single use plastic cup for reusable ones using a deposit scheme whereby customers pay £1 for the cup which is then refunded at the end of the evening. Eleanor then takes them home and washes and dries them all.
New for this year, Unique Boutique Events wants to encourage some beach love and is offering a free drink in exchange for a full bucket of
plastic picked up from the beach. Buckets can be collected from the bar during the event and drinks can be claimed on the same night when the bucket is returned.
