Can you find the items the loveable adoption donkeys have hidden around the sanctuary

Opening Times

Sorry, this event has passed

Enjoy a game of hide & seek this summer at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, Devon.

The adoption donkeys love playing hide and seek with the grooms' and vets' equipment and they now need your help finding the items hidden around the sanctuary.

Take this entertaining trail with family and friends, and as well as meeting hundreds of friendly donkeys grazing blissfully in their summer paddocks, you'll also be rewarded for your help. The trail is just £3 including a tasty treat on completion and you will make their grooms and vets very happy!

Make the most of your visit to the sanctuary by joining a tour led by one of their knowledgeable guides, and for an in-depth insight into the lives of the adoption donkeys make sure you attend one of the Meet the Groom sessions. Each day expert staff will also deliver a fascinating talk on all things donkey, you'll be able to interact with donkeys on their daily walk around the sanctuary and make sure you catch the donkey grooming demonstration – you'll probably enjoy it just as much as they do. Just head to the new Visitor Centre on arrival for all the details.

Come rain or shine the sanctuary have got you covered with their exciting new indoor attractions, where you'll discover just why donkeys are so special through fun, interactive displays in the new Exhibition Barn, Understanding Donkeys Zone and Dr Svendsen's Hut.

The fun doesn't stop there; see if you can find your way around the maze, let off some steam in the farm-themed outdoor play area and learn about other species inhabiting the sanctuary at the nature centre. For the adventurous, you can take a stroll down to the beach but be prepared for a challenge on the way back.

In between all of this, you'll want to take a breather in The Kitchen restaurant; overlooking the donkeys' paddocks and Jurassic Coast, it is the perfect spot in which to relax with freshly prepared dishes using local, ethically sourced produce. And don't forget to visit the brand new Gift Shop for donkey-design items to suit every pocket.

Entry and parking at the sanctuary is FREE. Dogs on leads are welcome.
