The Lost Sound, Dartmoor Folk choir are joined for this concert by Gaudeamus chamber choir. They sang together in 2015 at the Brandenburg Choral Festival in London, and come together again as part of the Gaudeamus summer tour.
The Lost Sound folk choir, inspired by the rugged and beautiful landscape of Dartmoor and with creative direction, has gone from strength to strength. Embracing the power of the choral tradition, whilst developing their natural voices, musical director Sandra Smith and the singers have created a choir of extraordinary quality.
They now sought after by top venues.
Last year, they sang at the Royal Albert Hall. They are appearing again at the Sidmouth Folk Festival this year.
"Hearing The Lost Sound was my absolute highlight, simply stunning."
Laura McAdam – Director Night of 1000 Voices
Gaudeamus is a chamber choir from Leigh on Sea, Essex who specialise in singing a range of music, from Classical part songs, anthems and madrigals to folk song and jazz arrangements: something for everyone. Over the years they have made many enjoyable concert tours to foreign cities, including Rome, where they sang at Mass in St Peter's Basilica, and most recently to Paris, where they gave concerts in Notre Dame Cathedral and at Chartres. This is their first tour in the UK.
This pairing of two choirs of different styles make for an eclectic mix of music and an enjoyable evening for everyone. This concert promises to be a choral feast.
