From 9–12 July, Totnes Fringe Festival fills the town with more than 70 performances taking over pubs, gardens, historic buildings and unexpected spaces across the town.
For four days, Shakespeare appears beneath the walls of the Norman castle, poets emerge in cafés and pubs, and audiences discover theatre, comedy, dance, cabaret and spoken word in places they never expected to find it.
This year's programme brings together artists from across the UK and beyond, including four international productions, award-winning performers, acclaimed touring companies and some of the South West's most exciting emerging talent.
Highlights include:
Jipe Lukusa's Zonga, a wildly physical and visually inventive piece of international theatre travelling from Brussels.
Davis Freeman and Random Scream's Karaoke (ART), also arriving from Brussels with an inventive collision of contemporary art and audience participation that quickly becomes one of the Festival's most talked-about experiences.
Richard Kieswick's This Is Your Musical, returning after last year's sell-out success with a company of leading improvisers and West End performers creating an entirely new musical live on stage from audience suggestions.
P Burton-Morgan's Running Commentary, a funny, heartfelt and surprisingly sexy solo show following one middle-aged mum's journey from post-parenthood exhaustion to unexpected running obsession, via poetry, flirting, friendship and a local running club.
Villainarium's Paperweights, travelling from Poland with a sharp and satirical take on modern work culture, bureaucracy and the absurdities of office life.
We're Working On It by Fringe Futures winner Kat Skidmore, showcasing bold new work from the next generation of theatre-makers.
And it isn't just about the ticketed shows. Families can enjoy free performances in Leechwell Gardens throughout the weekend, while Roving Poets and free Fringe Conversations pop up across the town, bringing artists, ideas and debate into the heart of Totnes.
Several shows have already sold out and many more are selling fast.
Whether you're looking for laugh-out-loud comedy, ambitious contemporary theatre, family entertainment or simply something completely unexpected, Totnes Fringe promises discoveries around every corner.
Book now, take a chance on something new, and discover what everyone will be talking about this summer.
