The Totnes Orange Race is organsied by The Totnes Elizabethan Society to commemorate Sir Francis Drake. Legend has it that he dropped a basket of oranges on Fore Street and the local chased them down the hill.
This years race takes place on the 20th August 2019 and competitors must kick their orange along the course from Market Square.
Races are arranged by age group with trophies for the winners and runners-up.
Everyone is welcome to come and watch this unique and exciting event and soak up the great atmosphere.
Entrants must register between 10 & 11 am on the day and the series of races follow until around 12.30 pm. Free to enter.
