The Cridford Inn is possibly the oldest and certainly the most charming in Devon!

Dating back to 825 AD, the Cridford Inn is a charming 1,000 year old Devon longhouse that has kept its character without compromising on comfort and modern luxury. Stay in one of our four ensuite bedrooms, each with their own historic charm consisting of exposed beams and sloping ceilings, or our self-contained two bedroom cottage, for those that need a little more space. Whatever you need, you won’t find a quirkier, quieter or quainter place to stay in Devon!

All the rooms at the Cridford Inn have tea and coffee making facilities and a TV for your convenience. We operate a bed and breakfast accommodation package, so you can start every day with a full English breakfast made with the best West Country ingredients. Perfect for starting your day and as our location in the Teign Valley is ideal for those that like exploring, you’ll need it! We also have a dog-friendly room so your four legged friends can enjoy the surrounding countryside too, just speak to a member of the team when booking so we can tailor your stay to cater for you and your dog.

The Cridford Inn is a great base for anyone wanting to explore South Devon. Set in the hilliest part of the Dartmoor National Park, you are treated to spectacular views at every corner from rolling countryside to tors and hills and of course wooded areas. Dartmoor is well known for its abundance of wildlife, including the famous Dartmoor ponies, which you can see roaming in their natural habitat. With the wide open countryside surrounding you, the Cridford Inn is a paradise for anyone wanting an active break and with the number of guided walks, walking trails and cycle hire organisations to be found around Dartmoor, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to explore at your own leisure.

The Teign Valley is unique in the fact that it is in the middle of nowhere, but within easy reach of everything. In 20 minutes, you can be in Exeter City Centre or at one of dozens of blue flag beaches that the English Riviera is known for and then back to the tranquil village of Trusham. With no streetlights and quiet roads, you can easily spend your days exploring and getting lost in the hustle and bustle of the neighbouring areas of South Devon and then return to the inn to relax and enjoy the countryside. Guests are also welcome to join us in our restaurant and bar where they can sample a wide range of locally brewed drinks including over 80 flavours of gin and an extensive menu full of high quality, locally sourced food.

If you need some inspiration during your stay with us, make sure to take a look at our things to do page on our website for suggestions of walking and cycling routes, packages for fishing and shooting, a day at the races or a round of golf.

The warmest welcome and the finest food awaits - this inn deserves a visit - you will not want to leave!

As a team we have carried out a full risk assessment with the new focus of keeping that virus out of our Inn restricting the chances of any infection passing to anyone while keeping all the charm and atmosphere that makes The Cridford Inn our customers favourite place to eat, drink and socialise.

We have new processes and systems in place to ensure that your table, cutlery, crockery, glasses, salt and pepper pots, in fact, everything is sanitised before you use it. From the sanitary conditions of the kitchen and the bar right through to bringing it to your table has been designed to prevent any contamination.

We take all our health and safety really seriously. We will make sure we play our part in keeping us all safe. When you visit please pay attention to the staff who will guide you and the signs that are there to help us all do our bit.
