South Devon has a number of festive markets being held in the run up to Christmas. These give you the perfect chance to get in to the Christmas spirit while stocking up on some last minute gifts. To help you start planning where to go we have listed some of the markets and fairs below.

Exeter Christmas Markets on Cathedral Green, 19th November – 19th December

The Cathedral Green, at the heart of the city centre, will be brought to life by the Market, with stalls offering unique, handmade and unusual gifts, decorations and food items.

Candlelit Dartmouth, 27th – 28th November

Christmas market taking place in the Elizabethan streets of Dartmouth with entertainers, lantern procession and Santa arriving by boat.

Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas, 5th December

Kingsbridge will celebrate Christmas once again on Saturday 5th December, so get in the festive spirit and eat, drink, and be merry in Kingsbridge this Christmas. Enjoy the Farmers Market held on the Quay, see Father Christmas arrive in his usual style, enjoy street entertainers, local bands and carol singers and browse the towns shops. 

Totnes Christmas Late Night Shopping, 8th, 15th and 22nd December

Totnes Christmas Late Night Shopping takes place on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of December from 3:30pm-9:30pm and see a massive influx of people into the medieval High Street to enjoy the craft stalls, locally made food and drink, local entertainments and of course some shopping in the towns diverse variety of independent shops.

Newton Abbot Lantern Parade & Christmas Street Fayre, 9th December

Late night shopping with entertainment from 6pm onwards. Local School children process through the town with handmade lanterns. Mayor’s Carol Service at the Clock Tower. Market Stalls throughout the town. Santa in his Clock Tower Grotto and handmade crafts close to the grotto entrance in Wolborough Street. Live music and street entrainment. Music from students of JJ’s Arts Academy and more on the King Street stage.

Hannah’s Christmas, until the 18th December

Hannah’s resident artists have put together a seasonal selection of gifts, from cards and stocking fillers to extra special treats for your loved ones. Everything on sale is handmade on site with a percentage going to support their charity work. The Gallery is open daily from 10am – 5pm. and entrance is free.

Other Festive Events

Powderham Christmas Wreath Making, 8th December

Have fun making your own Christmas Wreath in the Powderham Castle's Servants Hall with Sarah Pepper. Workshops at 10:00am - 12:30pm and 2.00pm to 4:30pm, £35 includes materials, coffee and mince pies. Booking essential as spaces are limited on 01626 890243.
