Comedy at Leadworks: Jessica Fostekew

After a year of Netflix and Zoom quizzes, live entertainment is finally making a welcome return. Today, art gallery and event venue, Leadworks have announced they are launching a brand new comedy night which will feature a TV headliner every month. The first show will take place on Saturday 10th July where the headliner will be QI's Jessica Fostekew.


Jessica Fostekew is a comedian, actor and writer, whose latest stand up show, "Hench" was nominated for the 2019 Edinburgh Comedy Award. She's appeared on BBC2's Live at The Apollo, QI, Richard Osman's House Of Games, Dave Gorman's 'Modern Life is Goodish', Comedy Central and many more. She is also co-host of The Guilty Feminist (podcast with 60 million+ downloads) which sold out the Plymouth Pavillions in 2019.

The new night, entitled 'Comedy at the Leadworks' aims to showcase not only TV talent but also the best comedians in the South West. That's why the inaugural show will be opened by Plymouth's very own Suzy Bennett. Suzy is a multi-award winning comic and has been tour support for Russell Kane and Jimmy Carr. Another act is due to be announced very soon.


Mutley-based comedian Christian Russell-Pollock will be hosting the comedy show, and is looking forward to the event:

This gig feels like a huge milestone. Not only is it going to be great for us comedians and for Leadworks but it's so important for the local community.
