A magical evening of brilliance, beauty and joy - the perfect prelude to Christmas.
Join the Lyric Chamber Orchestra under the inspired direction of conductor Keith Marshall, for a dazzling Festive Baroque Programme celebrating the brilliance and joy of the season. This enchanting concert features glorious Trumpet Concertos by Purcell and Handel, performed by David Chatterton, whose artistry brings these majestic works to life.
The concert begins with Handel's Concerto Grosso Op.6 No.1, a masterpiece of grandeur and elegance.
Also included is Corelli's beloved Christmas Concerto, a timeless expression of warmth and reverence.
No festive Baroque celebration would be complete without Winter from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, a thrilling depiction of icy storms and fiery spirit.
To crown the evening the orchestra presents Geminiani's La Follia, Op.5 No.12, a virtuosic and exuberant finale that captures the passion and vitality of the era.
This concert promises and evening of wonderful music, festive sparkle and Baroque splendour – an unforgettable celebration of the season's beauty and joy.
