Mara Simpson in concert with Glorious Chorus

On Saturday 5th May, Mara Simpson and band will perform with Glorious Chorus at St John's Church, Totnes. The show, part of a tour funded by Arts Council England, sees the acclaimed Brighton songwriter team up with some of the UK's top choir-leaders to deliver a series of special concerts. Mara collaborated up with Bafta award winning composer Poppy Ackroyd, and producers Chris Boot and Ben Daniel to create the album of songs they'll be performing in Totnes.


'For a long time I've been dreaming up choral arrangements to my songs, wanting to explore new ways of bringing people together on stage. It's the stuff that gives me the shivers and makes the hairs stand up on end, that moves people and shakes the dust. It's what happens when people come together and sing.'

Having performed at Glastonbury and Port Elliot, Helen Yeomans and her choir, Glorious Chorus, need little introduction. The Devon choir are a must-see this summer with their enviable reputation for passionate, polished performances. Together with Mara and band they hope to deliver a show to remember.
