The Brownston Gallery is proud to present Moor to Sea, a mixed exhibition featuring work by a collection of talented artists.
Dartmoor is the main focus of the exhibition – a beautiful, wild and diverse landscape that provides endless inspiration, from its distinctive granite tors and standing stones to wooded valleys, tumbling streams, open moorland and much-loved Dartmoor ponies. Covering an area of 978 square kilometres, there are many places on the moor where you can catch a glimpse of the sea along the South Devon coast. This is the inspiration behind the 'Moor to Sea' theme, with the exhibition also featuring paintings of well-known beaches and coastal landmarks.
Among the artists exhibiting is eco-artist Emma Lamb, who seeks to highlight the environmental challenges facing the moor through her original 3D work on handmade paper. Kate Aggett is known for her atmospheric collages depicting familiar landscapes, while award-winning artist Emma Carter Bromfield brings her distinctive work to the exhibition.
James Tatum, Andrew Miller and Michael Hill are each exhibiting new work inspired by Dartmoor's landscapes. Karen Popham showcases her talent for still-life painting, while Yvonne Coomber, renowned for her bold and brightly coloured flowers, is exhibiting a small collection of her work.
Throughout the exhibition, the gallery is delighted to be supporting Dartmoor Futures, a charity working with partners and communities to shape the long-term health and resilience of Dartmoor.
