South Devon Railway - World's Biggest Coffee Morning

South Devon Railway volunteer workers at idyllic Staverton Station -- many of whom are also members of the Staverton Preservation Group (SPG) -- are once again hosting a fund-raising event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday 27 September in the railway station's very own buffet coach from 10.30 until 15.30 (3.30pm).

The event is part of Macmillan's 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' event and there will be hot and cold drinks plus home-made savouries and cakes on offer in the coach, with all monies raised by SPG being donated to Macmillan Cancer Care.

The station buffet coach has plenty of seats inside but, in the event the sun does not shine on the righteous for the day, extra covered seating will be provided outside in case the weather turns a tad damp.

Visitors can travel to the event either by SDR steam trains or by car and use the station car park, park in front of the station, or in some of the allocated spaces at Diverde's highways maintenance premises (formerly Kevin Thulborn's yard) nearby.

SPG members are hoping to raise a tidy sum for this very worthy cause and also help to raise awareness of the work Macmillan does in the community helping people suffering with cancer across the country.
