Situated in the pretty South Hams village of Stokenham just 6 miles from Kingsbridge and 10 miles from Dartmouth is the recently renovated Church House Inn.
Boasting four plush new bedrooms with bespoke hand-crafted King size beds, walk-in rainfall showers and luxury furnishings this countryside pub offers the ideal base to explore the beauty of South Devon. Combine this with the pubs brand-new bar, sliding doors to the terrace, oak flooring, refurbished restaurant and a large beer garden and you have the perfect ingredients for a relaxing break in Devon.
The Church House menu incorporates local produce from across the region and focusses on classic pub food cooked to a high standard. Here you’ll find traditional pub grub such as homemade pie of the day, beer-battered fish and chunky chips through to monkfish scampi, Josper-grilled chops, ribs, steaks and vegetarian specials.
The bar stocks a wide selection of fine wines, local ales, draught ciders and an abundance of gin. In the warmer months the large beer garden offers a peaceful place for an alfresco lunch and as the weather sets in you can enjoy your beverage in the light, airy bar with large folding doors overlooking the countryside.
The Church House is just a 20-minute stroll from Torcross which is home to the stunning Slapton Sands and Slapton Ley, with walks to Dartmouth or Beesands (home to sister pub, The Cricket Inn) directly on the South West Coast Path. The harbour-side town of Dartmouth is just a short drive away and there are numerous nearby attractions to be enjoyed, including Agatha Christie’s Greenway, Dartmouth Castle, Woodlands Leisure Park and many beautiful beaches right on the doorstep.
Rooms from £120 bed and breakfast.
