North Sands

A large sandy expanse and family friendly beach, North Sands is perfect for a seaside adventure. Completely covered at high tide, the beach is a popular one with facilities nearby. Walking around the cove will give you some beautiful views and is ideal for getting a pretty photo.

Overbeck’s

Open from February to October, Overbeck’s is a gorgeous house and subtropical gardens with mesmerising views. A little piece of heaven tucked away, the magical gardens frame the views of the Salcombe Estuary and out to sea so wonderfully that they will make a dazzling addition to any Instagram feed.

Hope Cove

Just a short drive from Salcombe, Hope Cove is a quaint village with two attractive beaches. Both of them make for an appealing photo and the walks around the village on the South West Coast Path provide some breath-taking vistas which also offer up ample photo opportunities.

Mill Bay Beach

Mill Bay Beach is nestled between trees on the East Portlemouth side of the Salcombe Estuary. It is privately owned and popular among families due to its sheltered waters and rockpools. Instagram-worthy shots can be had on the beach itself and by walking in the surrounding area.

East Portlemouth Landing

On the opposite side of the Salcombe Estuary to the town of Salcombe, the East Portlemouth ferry landing is always a hit on social media. The wooden pontoon seems to effortlessly disappear into the azure waters with Salcombe resting peacefully in the background.

Gara Rock Beach

Just south east of Salcombe on the coast you’ll find Gara Rock Beach. An alluring secluded cove that can be reached via the South West Coast Path, the best views of this staggering coastline can be had from Gara Rock Hotel where you’ll find a cosy atmosphere and of course Instagram-worthy content!

Soar Mill Cove

South west of Salcombe lays the delightful Soar Mill Cove. Just looking down to the hidden sandy paradise is a photograph you don’t want to miss, but exploring the beach and the surrounding coastline will also provide plenty of magical images. 

Start Point Lighthouse

A little way from Salcombe, Start Point Lighthouse is a Grade II listed building that sits on Start Point and guides ships away from the craggy rocks of the peninsula below. This stretch of South Hams coastline is rugged and very picturesque making it a great Instagrammable spot. 

Prawle Point

The southernmost point of Devon, Prawle Point is amazingly spectacular. Sharp rocks and cliff faces jolt upright from the sea bed causing dramatic scenery all around.
