Like any other county in the UK, there are plenty of Christmas events in Devon this year! If you’re looking to watch a panto, we have you covered, fancy a more unusual festive treat such as a cruise, you can find one here or if the family want to visit one of the many great attractions, they have festive fun for you too! Festive Special River Cruises, Exmouth (16th, 20th & 26th November, 11th, 24th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th & 30th December)

Enjoy a magical Christmas outing this year with Stuart Line Cruises as you sail along the River Exe with a mince pie and mulled wine on one of their Festive Special River Cruises. MAKE 2019 – Exhibition of Contemporary Crafts for Christmas, Bovey Tracey (16th November – 5th January)

The annual Christmas selling exhibition at Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracey begins on the 16th of November and will run until the 5th of January. Christmas Light Switch On, Newton Abbot (23rd November)

Make your way to Newton Abbot on the 23rd of November for the Christmas Light Switch On! There will be street entertainment too as well as live music and Father Christmas will even be paying a visit! Christmas at Pennywell Farm, Buckfastleigh (23rd November – 24th December)

Christmas at Pennywell Farm is a truly magical experience and it’s on from the 23rd of November right up until Christmas Eve! Beginning with a beautiful Nativity that the kids can join in with if they want to and then on to meet Father Christmas, ending with festive refreshments. Tickets are £13.95 for adults and children 3-16 years olds, £9.95 for children ages 1-2 years and babies under 12 months who do not require a gift from Santa go free, booking essential. Nativity! The Musical, Plymouth (26th – 30th November)

Nativity! The Musical returns to the Theatre Royal Plymouth following a fantastic 2018 tour and London run. Adapted from the brilliant movie, the musical includes the well known songs as well as a host of new ones. Tickets available from £10. Please click here for further details about Nativity! Coleton Aglow, Kingswear (29th November – 1st December, 5th – 8th, 13th – 15th, 17th – 24th, 27th – 31st December)

Make your way to National Trust’s Coleton Fishacre for their ever-popular Coleton Aglow. Explore the stunning grounds and beautiful house which is more magical than ever due to the adorning lights. Candlelit Dartmouth Mayflower 2019, Dartmouth (29th & 30th November)

Candlelit Dartmouth will be bigger and better than ever before as this year it combines with Dartmouth Mayflower 400 to launch the start of their celebrations too! This year’s event is taking place on Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th of November. Friday sees the Christmas Market opening up in Royal Avenue Gardens with music and entertainment as well as Father Christmas’ arrival by boat! On Saturday the holiday cheer continues with the market starting back up again at 10am and plenty more going on around the town. The Crealy Christmas Spectacular, Exeter (30th November – 24th December)

There’s one Christmas event you won’t want to miss this year in South Devon and that’s The Crealy Christmas Spectacular! From Santa’s Toy Factory and Santa’s Magical Show Time to Mary Christmas’ Bakery and Rudy’s Reindeer Feeding Station as well as the incredible Christmas On Ice Show: The Snow Globe Adventure, the whole family are in for a day of magical festive fun! Crediton Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival, Crediton (5th – 8th December)

The beautiful Crediton Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival returns again this year as visitors can delight in the gorgeously decorated trees and explore this magnificent church. Entry is free and there will be refreshments available in the Boniface Centre Christmas Cracker Café at certain times. Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas, Kingsbridge (7th December)

On Saturday the 7th of December, the charming waterside town of Kingsbridge in the South Hams welcomes guests from near and far as they celebrate this joyous season! Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas brings together all the family favourite festivities, with stalls from across Devon lining Fore Street, the fabulous Farmers Market on the Town Square, cracking live entertainment and Father Christmas will even be paying a visit. Festive Cooking Demo, South Brent (7th December)

Join Joshua Ackland, Head Chef at Glazebrook House Hotel on the 7th of December for a Festive Cooking Demo. He’ll show you how to rustle up one of his yummy seasonal treats and then you’ll be able to enjoy a three course lunch. The event starts at 12pm and tickets cost £35, booking essential. Snow White, Exeter (7th December – 1st January)

Make your way to Exeter Corn Exchange this Christmas for their pantomime, Snow White, starring Ella Gilling from CBBC’s The Next Step. It’s a family favourite that everyone will enjoy! Carols Down the Line, Buckfastleigh (12th & 13th December)

Kick start your build up to the big day the right way at South Devon Railway on the 12th and 13th of December with their hugely popular Carols Down the Line event. Hop aboard for a festive trip of carols once you’ve enjoyed your complimentary tea or coffee and mince pie. The carol singing will be led by the Exeter Railway Band. Christmas Boat Party, Exmouth (14th December)

Head to Exmouth on the 14th of December for a Christmas party to remember! Join Stuart Line Cruises for a Christmas Boat Party where you’ll be welcomed with a drink as you board and can tuck into to a locally produced hog roast before dancing the night away with the classic disco. Cinderella, Plymouth (20th December – 18th January)

Television presenter and comedian Brian Conley stars in Cinderella at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth from the 20th of December right up until the 18th of January. Christmas at the Model Village, Torquay (21st – 24th, 27th December – 2nd January)

Christmas at the Model Village will be taking place from the 21st to the 24th of December and then from the 27th of December through to the 2nd of January. Visitors can expect a magical experience at Babbacombe Model Village in Torquay as they explore the miniature world with some extra special festive scenes and sparkling illuminations from dusk. There’s a 3D Toy Workshop film too and you can even see Santa in their mini panto on the 21st to the 24th of December! Christmas Day Swim Cruise, Exmouth (25th December)

If running into the freezing sea on Christmas Day in Exmouth isn’t something you’re looking to do, but you fancy watching other brave people plunging into the waters, why not head out on Stuart Line Cruises' Christmas Day Swim Cruise. Watch the crowds tumble into the ocean from the warm and comfort of the boat and enjoy a mulled wine and mince pie before you then take a leisurely cruise up the river. Mince Pie Specials, Buckfastleigh (27th December – 1st January)

Round of the Christmas period in South Devon with a trip to South Devon Railway in Buckfastleigh for one of their Mince Pie Specials. Climb aboard between the 27th of December and the 1st of January for a yummy mince pie as you pass through the stunning Dart Valley.
