Becky Falls - A Magical Family Day Out on Dartmoor

Set in a spectacular ancient valley on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, the famous Becky Falls has been delighting visitors since 1903, and no trip to Devon is complete without experiencing this iconic natural attraction.

Explore over 50 acres of beautiful woodland, streams, and waterfalls within a rare temperate rainforest habitat, recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its unique ecology, moss-covered boulders, and rich wildlife. It’s one of the most enchanting places to connect with nature in the South West.

Three Walking Trails

Three colour-coded walking routes, perfect for families, couples, and adventurers alike:

  • Blue Trail – A gentle woodland walk through ancient oak forest. Includes the FREE Children’s Nature Trail with a prize for every child.
  • Red Trail – Discover the dramatic 70-foot waterfall and stunning valley views.
  • Purple Trail – A more rugged route with lower falls and viewpoints for our adventurous visitors.

Animals, Experiences & Family Fun

Animal lovers can visit our small zoo and exotics house, home to meerkats, ponies, skunks, reptiles, and more. Don’t miss our hourly Meet-the-Keeper talks (11am–4pm) – check the What’s On board when you arrive for daily topics.

For an unforgettable experience, pre-book an up-close animal encounter such as a Reptile Encounter or Junior Keeper Experience, perfect for all animal enthusiasts and children over 8 years old.

Relax, Refuel & Enjoy the Day

Take a break in our licensed woodland café or browse the gift shop for souvenirs. Dogs on leads are very welcome, making Becky Falls a great choice for the whole family.

Whether you’re visiting alone, with children, or looking for a peaceful nature escape as a couple, Becky Falls offers one of the best family days out in Devon.
