We specialise in the artisan cheeses of the West Country and stock about 130 at any time. Our shop is unique in the region as a temperature and humidity-controlled space which doubles as a cheese maturing room, so customers see rows of whole cheeses maturing on wooden shelves, as well as a colourful and dramatic display of cheeses piled high on the counter, changed every week. Visiting the shop is a completely different experience to visiting a deli or even to most cheese shops!
Staffed by very knowledgeable cheesemongers, the shop is a place where you can go to explore the range and quality of local cheeses, with our staff always ready to offer taster pieces to try. Talking and tasting is the way we work.
In addition, we offer a unique range of superb cheese toasties between 12 and 2 every day we are open. These can be enjoyed in the lovely courtyard and barn at the rear, together with a glass of something (we are fully licensed) or can be served to take away. The toasties use sourdough bread from two great local bakeries.
