Alegria Ensemble – Three Centuries of Piano Trios
Enjoy an afternoon of outstanding live chamber music as the acclaimed Alegria Ensemble makes its debut at Modbury Concerts with Three Centuries of Piano Trios.
Performing at the beautiful St George's Church, Modbury, pianist Ricky Moreira, violinist Chloe Dickens and cellist Sara Juneau present a programme that traces the evolution of the piano trio across more than 200 years of musical history.
The concert features works by Haydn, Brahms and contemporary American composer Joel Mandelbaum, taking audiences on a journey from the elegance of the Classical period through the rich emotional world of Romanticism to the distinctive voice of a living composer. The ensemble's close connection with Mandelbaum offers a rare opportunity to hear music that is seldom performed in the UK, alongside fresh insights into the work of a contemporary composer.
Praised for their expressive performances and engaging stage presence, the Alegria Ensemble has delighted audiences across Devon and Cornwall and is dedicated to making chamber music accessible to audiences of all backgrounds.
Presented by Modbury Concerts, this special afternoon offers the chance to experience world-class musicians in the intimate setting of one of South Devon's most attractive historic churches.
Whether you are a long-time lover of classical music or discovering chamber music for the first time, this promises to be a memorable concert in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
