The Ashburton Food Festival returns in 2025 with an expanded footprint across the town and even more traders and attractions. This year, the festival not only celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Devon but also shines a spotlight on the pressing issue of food waste. With new events at the Ashburton Arts Centre, including chocolate and wine tastings, there’s more to explore than ever before.
Dee Kilkelly, the festival's lead organizer, shares, “This year, we’re going beyond just great food. We want to start meaningful conversations about how we can reduce food waste, ensure better food distribution, and support local initiatives like FareShare and Food in the Community.”
Festival Highlights
· Expanded Street Food Market: More vendors, more flavors, and a bigger celebration of local cuisine.
· Workshops & Panels on Food Waste: Engage with experts and community leaders to learn how we can all make a difference in reducing waste.
· Tastings at Ashburton Arts Centre: Indulge in chocolate and wine tastings while supporting local producers.
· Live Entertainment & Family Fun: Enjoy music, kids’ activities, and community spaces designed for relaxation and connection.
