At the age of sixty-eight, local adventurer, David Lemon set out to become the first person in recorded history to walk the entire length of the Zambezi River. Apart from the last four hundred kilometres, he walked alone and was forced to break off halfway through but resumed the journey as soon as he could. He had many adventures and encounters with wildlife along the way but after two hundred and ninety-two walking days and with over three thousand kilometres behind him, he arrived at the mouth of the river three months before his seventieth birthday.
