Dartmoor Whisky Distillery

Dartmoor Whisky Distillery is an independent distillery nestled in the heart of Devon, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Launched in 2017 and guided by our Master Distiller, Frank McHardy, we take inspiration from the wild, rugged moorlands we call home to craft the finest English single malt whisky that encapsulates the true spirit of Dartmoor.

We are Devon’s first and only single malt whisky producer and pride ourselves on producing unique, excellent tasting whisky from every barrel.

Our whisky

Our whisky is made using the finest local ingredients; our beer comes from Dartmoor Brewery just up the road, our barley is grown and harvested in East Dartmoor and our spirit is mixed with fresh Dartmoor Spring water just before it is bottled for our customers. Each bottle is made using a single malt, and is aged in an individual, single cask for unique flavour and colour.

We have three core expressions available to buy; ex-Bourbon, ex-Bordeaux Red Wine and ex-Oloroso Sherry cask.

American Oak Ex-Bourbon Cask Single Malt - This sumptuously sweet single malt is matured solely in a single American White Oak Ex-Bourbon cask for a vanilla and toffee filled dram.

Ex-Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Single Malt - Our fruit-forward Ex-Bordeaux red wine cask single malt is one of the best selling whiskies in our line up of original expressions.

Ex-Oloroso Sherry Cask Single Malt - Whether raising a glass for a special occasion or gathering with those nearest and dearest this summer, our Ex-Sherry Cask Single Malt has been crafted with life’s more memorable moments in mind.

Dartmoor Whisky Tasting Experience

Customers are welcomed to visit the distillery for one of our Whisky Tasting Experiences, available every Saturday at 1pm. Visit Devon's only whisky distillery, hear our story, learn how we make our single malt whisky from start to finish and taste our current expressions, individually aged in Ex-Bourbon, Bordeaux Red Wine and Oloroso Sherry casks.
