Drawn to the Valley's annual Summer Exhibition brings together artists from along the Tamar Valley. Artists who create unique artworks drawn from diverse, yet collectively local, inspiration. Drawn to the Valley's artists span the Devon/Cornwall border and are often inspired by the Tamar, wild and wonderful landscapes of Dartmoor and the dramatic South West coastlines, including Plymouth and Saltash.
This unique landscape offers the opportunity to explore different textures and mediums, allowing the artists to draw on and connect with nature through their own interpretations of local landscapes, plants and animals.
The artists included in the Summer Exhibition will be, painters, print makers, textile artists, sculptors, jewellers, ceramicists and other mixed media, along with artists who use a range of techniques to produce unique artworks.
This year's exhibition will include a new feature. Alongside the gallery exhibition there will be a Drawn to the Valley shop area where merchandise featuring the artwork of the artists on show at the exhibition will be available to purchase at affordable prices. So along with the gallery exhibition, there will be plenty to look at.
The exhibition will include the ever popular Artist demonstrations, where the artists will share an insight into their practice, alongside a visitor interaction area where anyone can have a go at sketching and join in with the creativity.
This iconic exhibition in Tavistock's historic Butchers Hall will give visitors the chance to experience original high quality artworks created by local artists. This year members of Tavistock Group of Artists are invited to take part in the exhibition, reflecting a truly local and authentic experience for Tavistock.
The Summer Exhibition will definitely have beautiful artworks to look at, but also thoughtful pieces that reflect emotions and feelings, so expect the unusual and different too.
