Take The MIC brings together songwriting, live performance, and music production into one integrated programme, offering young people the tools, guidance, and space to explore music in all its forms. Whether you're a vocalist, instrumentalist, producer, or aspiring artist, this weekly session supports you in developing both creative and technical skills. Led by industry professionals, the class provides access to high-quality facilities and collaborative learning tailored to all skill levels—from those just starting out to those building a career in music.
What You Can Expect:
- Songwriting & Composition: Craft original material and explore storytelling through music.
- Music Production: Learn how to create, mix, and master tracks using professional tools and software.
- Live Performance: Build confidence on stage and gain real-world experience performing your work.
- Recording Sessions: Record your music in a supported environment, and understand the recording process from start to finish.
- Artist Development: Work on your unique sound and identity, including branding and self-promotion.
- Collaboration: Connect and create with other young musicians, producers, and vocalists.
- Mentoring & Feedback: Receive constructive input from experienced artists to support your growth.
This is more than a music class—it's a space for young creatives to shape their voice, refine their craft, and become part of a wider musical community.

We're committed to making our youth programme accessible to everyone. As a charity, we receive some funding to deliver our creative programmes – but this doesn't cover all of our costs. To help us keep our classes affordable and open to as many young people as possible, we've introduced a tiered pricing structure for our termly membership. Here's how it works: Everyone gets the same great classes, led by professional artists. You choose the price that feels right for your family. If you're in a position to give a little more, you can opt for the 'Help Us' tier to support the programme's long-term sustainability. It's a simple 'Help Us, Help You' approach – you choose what you can afford, and every contribution goes directly into keeping our programme inclusive and high-quality.
